How to Connect VPN

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows you to create a secure and encrypted connection between your device and a remote network. VPNs are commonly used for privacy protection, secure remote work, and accessing internal resources safely.

Prerequisites

Before connecting to a VPN, make sure you have:

VPN server details (Server address, VPN type/protocol, username/password).

VPN protocol supported by your device:

PPTP / L2TP / IKEv2 (built-in on most OS).

OpenVPN / WireGuard (requires app installation).

A stable internet connection.

Step 1: Configure VPN on Windows

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > VPN.

Click Add a VPN connection.

Enter the following details:

VPN provider: Windows (built-in)

Server name or address: (e.g., vpn.example.com)

VPN type: Choose your protocol (usually L2TP or IKEv2).

Username & Password: Provided by your VPN admin.

Save and click Connect to start the VPN.

Step 2: Configure VPN on macOS

Open System Settings > Network.

Click the + button to add a new service, choose VPN.

Select the protocol type (e.g., IKEv2).

Enter server address, remote ID, and authentication info.

Apply changes and click Connect.

Step 3: Configure VPN on Mobile

iOS:
Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management > VPN > Add VPN Configuration, fill in details, and toggle ON.

Android:
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > VPN > Add VPN, enter details, then connect.

Troubleshooting

Cannot connect: Check your username/password and ensure VPN server is online.

Slow speed: Try changing protocol (e.g., from PPTP to IKEv2) or connect to a closer server.

Disconnection issues: Disable battery saver mode and ensure stable internet.

Security Tips

Prefer OpenVPN or WireGuard for stronger security.

Avoid public Wi-Fi without using a VPN.

Disconnect VPN when not needed to save bandwidth.
